Martyn Andrews

Martyn Andrews writes and presents the weekly culture show “Moscow Out”, hosts a food strand "A Prime Receipe" on RT's new "Primetime Russia programme" and is also the face of the popular “Wayfarer” travel and adventure series, which has taken him through 11 time zones across the whole of Russia. The veteran traveler also recently explored the former Russian Capital penning and hosting the mini series “Venice of the North: A season in St Petersburg” to be shown in 2010.
He presented the live studio show “Entertainment Today” for three years, along with RT's cookery series “Culinary Quest”, and hosted the live coverage from the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow – all on RT.
Martyn was born in Liverpool, England, and is a professionally trained broadcast journalist, presenter, actor and singer. He has a BA (hons) degree in Acting and Performance and has appeared in lead roles in several professional musicals and major theatre productions in the UK and Europe.
He has written, produced and presented several television shows on a number of networks, both in the UK and abroad. Some of the highlights have been the BBC's “Songs of Praise”, a UK-based chat show “Lounge Living TV” and an adventure TV series called “Undiscovered Egypt”, finding out the truth behind the Pyramids.
Before moving to Russia, Martyn hosted the worldwide award-winning documentary series “My Abyss”, a deep-sea diving program based from New York. He filmed and had to train for months in dozens of exotic marine locations around the world to become a deep-sea diver for the program!
Martyn has been at RT since its launch in 2005, co-presenting the channel's first ever hour on-air and loves living in Moscow – even when it is minus 25! As Martyn says:
