Marina Portnaya

Marina Portnaya is RT's New York Correspondent.

From the diplomatic debates inside the United Nations, to the social and political battles across the United States, Marina covers controversial and historic events as they unfold.

During America's 2008 Presidential Election campaign, Marina filed reports from the riots surrounding the Republican National Convention, and later… from the roaring crowds in Chicago celebrating Barack Obama’s victory.

Marina reports regularly from the UN, providing up-to-the minute live coverage of breaking news including Kosovo's Unilateral Declaration of Independence and the Gaza War.

Politics aside, Marina has introduced RT viewers to issues often ignored by mainstream media such as Vermont’s efforts to succeed from the Union, and U.S Iraq War deserters being deported from Canada.

Marina regularly contributes to RT’s newsmaker program, conducting one-on-one interviews with influential figures including former Presidential Candidate Bill Bradley, Economist Peter Schiff, Trend Forecaster Gerald Celente, Saddam Hussein's lawyer Ramsey Clark, and world renowned scholar Noam Chomsky.

Marina is a graduate of New York University. She speaks fluent Russian.
