Igor Ogorodnev
Igor Ogorodnev is a News Reporter for RT.
From Australia to the North Pole, from Washington to Beijing, Igor has travelled the world over, reporting on political, social and human interest stories.
He extensively covered the latest Georgian, Serbian and Russian presidential elections. In 2008, he was one of the first to report at the site of the Perm plane crash, the Nura earthquake, and the Vladivostok submarine accident. He has produced in-depth investigations of Greece’s immigration crisis, and Russia’s healthcare system.
Igor believes that an interesting angle must be found on every story, but strives to never sacrifice his integrity. While his work is driven by visuals, this does not mean that important issues can’t be discussed with intelligence and insight within the scope of a TV report.
As a schoolboy, Igor studied in the UK on a scholarship, and subsequently completed a BA in Philosophy and Politics at the University of York.
Before joining RT in 2007, Igor worked as a translator and radio presenter.
In his own time, Igor writes, dissects underrated sitcoms in minute detail for a bored audience, and listens to his friends play their favourite songs.
