Anissa Naouai

Anissa Naouai is a news correspondent for RT.

Her reports have taken her to over 45 cities across the globe, from Kennebunkport to Kyrgyzstan. Anissa goes wherever the action takes her in order to keep RT’s viewers informed with live, up-to-the-minute coverage.

She has covered elections in many countries, including France, Turkey, Ukraine and Russia. According to Anissa, one of her most exciting experiences recently was witnessing the historic vote during the 2008 U.S. presidential election.

As part of her RT reporting career, she followed the radioactive trail in London, Moscow and Hamburg after the murder of Aleksandr Litvinenko and was one of the first journalists to arrive at the scene of Anna Politovskaya’s murder.

Anissa has interviewed many influential political figures including Henry Kissinger, Former U.S. presidential candidate Pat Buchanan, Former Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage, Lebanese Parliament Majority Leader Saad Hariri and Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev.

Aside from politics, Anissa says that one of the most enjoyable up sides of working for RT was discovering areas of Russia, unknown to the international audience in the “Russia Close-up” series.

Born and raised in New York City, Anissa has lived in Russia since 2001. She moved to the Russian capital to complete a Masters Degree at the Studio School of the Moscow Art Theatre.

She speaks fluent Russian.
